Thanksgiving and Holiday Cooking Tips from Mrs. B and NBCD Cooking Show

Greetings Everyone,

As another holiday season approaches, we are busy each and everyday with life's activities (work, school, kids, career). Although we have not been able to regularly produce the NBCD Cooking Shows like we wanted, we do want to share with you how we are continuing our cooking traditions despite all of the economic constraints occurring in all parts of the country.

Who would have predicted such a downturn of the economy in such a short period of time. Well, let's not go there yet. Okay, everyone had some type of ideal that this economy would affect all of us and it sure has indeed.

With that in mind, Mrs. B and the NBCD Cooking Show want to provide you with some Healthy Holiday Cooking Tips for Thanksgiving and Christmas. In fact, Mrs. B. prepared 2 SPECIAL NEWSLETTERS for you:

Click on the links, download the NEWSLETTER with all the special recipes. We particularly want to emphasize the THANKSGIVING ON A BUDGET Newsletter. This is for all of us who have to cut corners and stay within a budget during these very tough economic times!!

Also, if you would like to see one of our earlier Cooking Shows, check out our promotional clip for the Healthy Mac & Cheese and Arugala Salad:

As always, Mrs. B and I and the entire NBCD Cooking Show Crew want to wish you the Happiest Holidays -- Thanksgiving, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah and New Year's Eve 2008.

We also want to congratulate the new President Elect Barack Obama and the Obama Family (Michelle & Daughters) to the White House. We celebrate their success and we are sure that they will bring alot of down-home healthy African American cuisine to the White House and to all the homes of America.

New Stroke Awareness Campaign for African Americans

Greetings NBCD Cooking Show Viewers,

As you know, Mrs. B and I love to make all types of healthy cuisine for all types of ocassions. Whether it is for family celebrations, reunions, birthdays, holidays, seasonal events or just everyday, healthy cooking and eating is always possible particularly the foods that African Americans prefer!

Yet Mrs B and I are also aware that we can dramatically reduce our chances of developing certain chronic disease or bad health situations, if we cook and eat healthier foods on a daily basis. That's why this new Stroke Awareness Campaign for African Americans is so important.

Recently, Mrs. B and I were informed of a new public health awareness campaign focusing on African Americans and Stroke. Stroke is the number #3 cause of death and disability among African Americans. Did you know that the risk of stroke in African Americans is TWICE as high as in white Americans? Stroke is very important to me because I have close family members who have had strokes and they are stroke survivors. One family member is very close to me. She is doing very well and has educated me about how she has adapted to everyday living while being stroke survivor!

The Ad Council and American Stroke Association have released this Public Service Announcement to raise awareness and help save lives in our community. Check out their video:

After you check out the video, let us know what you think about it. Email us at: feedback@newblackculturaldiet.com. Share the video with your family and friends and let's save lives!
